Earthworks Landscapes & Irrigation is a full-service design/build landscape contracting firm providing design and installation services in NWPA and the Chautauqua Lake areas.
Specializing in outdoor rooms and environments, owner Ron Berquist and sons Jason and James collectively offer over 70 years of landscape design and installation experience to provide one of the most qualified, efficient crews in Erie County.

Biography
Born and raised in Erie, Ron is a 1968 graduate of Strong Vincent High School. In 1969 he joined the Army and was an infantry platoon Combat Medic where he earned the Combat Medical Badge, Bronze Star, Air Medal and Army Commendation Medal among other individual and various unit citations.
In 1974, Ron started “Common Ground Landscaping” literally from the ground up.
In 1981, he and his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. There he worked on such projects as the Fashion Show Mall and was Superintendent of Landscape Construction for The Ribiero Corp., developer, owner and operator of over 10,000,000 square feet of office, commercial, retail and industrial space in the Las Vegas area.
Working hand-in-hand with the owner and architects on such projects as Quail Park 2000 and The Quail Air Center, Ron became adept at performing the highest quality work in the most expeditious manner possible.
In 1984 Ron left The Ribiero Corp and started Earthworks Landscapes & Irrigation.
In 1991 he and his family moved back to Erie and started business anew with the contract to rebuild Ainsworth Field to AA specifications and keep the Erie Sailors in town for one more year. This was followed by the building of the Mercyhurst College baseball field in North East, PA, as well as numerous residential projects.
